Indie Game Festival ‘BIC 2026’ Signs MOU with RedForce PC Arena

On June 12, the Busan Indie Connect Festival Organizing Committee and RedForce PC Arena signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on the Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 (BIC 2026). The partnership includes the creation of a dedicated 'FGT (Focus Group Test) Zone' at the festival, allowing gamers to provide feedback on exhibition titles. RedForce PC Arena will supply high-performance PCs and monitors and manage technical support for the testing environment. The organization will also promote BIC 2026 through its network of PC cafes. BIC 2026 will take place as a hybrid festival from August 7 to 28 online and from August 14 to 16 offline at BEXCO Exhibition Center 1, Hall 2, in Busan.

Players will take on the role of Mayor to revitalize a neglected tourist town into a vibrant destination, aiming for a 5-Star status. The game features customization options and art by Stef Bollen. Players will assist uniquely designed villagers and establish shops to generate income for town improvements. Key features include a low-stress gameplay environment, pixel art style, and a progression system to enhance the town's rank.

Alright, so maybe Zohran Mamdani isn’t New York’s first gamer mayor

In June, a nostalgic feature from 2002 showed 11-year-old Zohran Mamdani expressing his hopes for holiday gifts, specifically FIFA 2003 and SimCity 3000. Nearly six months into his tenure as the 112th mayor of New York City, following his November 2025 victory over Andrew Cuomo, Mamdani's gaming knowledge was tested during his inaugural Twitch stream, where he displayed a lack of familiarity with Minecraft. He admitted in a Hasan Piker stream that he does not engage in video games, although he enjoys FIFA. Despite the playful notion of him being a gamer mayor, it appears that Mamdani does not fit this mold.
