Windows 10 users are getting locked out of new Microsoft 365 features in a bid to push for Windows 11

Microsoft will stop providing new features for Microsoft 365 to users on Windows 10 once stable version 2608 is released. After that, Windows 10 users will only receive security updates until October 10, 2028, which is the end of extended security support for Windows 10. Devices on Windows 10 will remain on version 2608 and will not receive new features, except for the OneDrive desktop app, which will continue to receive updates until October 2028 for users on Windows 10 version 22H2. The current stable version of Microsoft 365 is 2607, and version 2608 is in the release preview channel.

Cozy wizard life simulation game Aether Wizard Life launches in fall 2028 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC

Kinetic Publishing has partnered with Vonder Games to release the life simulation game, Aether Wizard Life, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, scheduled for fall 2028. Players will take on the role of a young apprentice mage in the haunted town of Starfall, starting each day in a customizable walking castle. Gameplay includes growing magical crops, caring for exotic creatures, exploring dungeons, and engaging with townsfolk for side quests. The game features over 30 wizard skills, customization options for the player's wizard, and the ability to pursue romantic relationships with 20 dateable NPCs. Key elements include mastery of magic, exploration of the haunted town, castle personalization, and assisting townsfolk while uncovering the mystery of missing mages. The Pixel Tag takes Google’s Find Hub network to the next level

Google has introduced the Pixel Tag, its first in-house Bluetooth tracker, during the Made by Google event alongside the Pixel 11 series. Databricks acquires Electric to give every AI agent its own Postgres database

Databricks has acquired Electric, a startup known for its WASM-based Postgres project, PGlite, and the Electric sync engine. The Electric team will integrate with Neon, a serverless Postgres company acquired by Databricks for approximately billion last year. PGlite is a full Postgres database implemented in WebAssembly, capable of running in various environments and supporting dynamic extension loading, including pgvector. PGlite's weekly downloads increased from 1 million to 13 million over the past year. The Electric sync engine allows near real-time synchronization of a central Postgres database across platforms, similar to collaborative tools like Figma and Google Docs. Electric's founders have assured that all previously open-sourced components will remain accessible, while the hosted service, Electric Cloud, will be phased out. Databricks has noted that agents are now responsible for creating four times more databases than human users on Lakebase, with the average lifespan of a database compute instance being less than 10 seconds. The architecture of Lakebase separates storage from compute, facilitating cost-effective operations. PGlite originated from an experiment by Stas Kelvich, co-founder of Neon, who compiled Postgres to WASM, which Electric later developed into a production project.
