Google expands AI-powered app discovery and Android development tools at I/O

Additionally, Microsoft has fixed a critical vulnerability (CVE-2026-41103) in its Single Sign-On (SSO) Plugin for Jira and Confluence, which allows an attacker to forge a Microsoft Entra ID identity through a manipulated SAML response; however, patching this vulnerability is the responsibility of the users of Atlassian's platforms.

The mod features in-game cassettes with Morrowind's box art, which can be collected and used for decoration in Sanctuary. It operates by running OpenMW in a hidden window that streams its display into Fallout 4's Pip-Boy in real time, managed by a dedicated F4SE plugin. The mod requires the Steam versions of both Fallout 4 and Morrowind, as well as the Fallout 4 Script Extender, and includes a custom fork of OpenMW in the installer.

New Trojan attacks Windows and steals data from smartphones via Phone Link

Cisco Talos experts have discovered a trojan that has been operational since at least January 2026, which installs the CloudZ RAT (Remote Access Tool) on Windows systems along with the Pheno plugin. The attack starts with an undisclosed initial access vector and involves executing a counterfeit SmartConnect update to deploy the CloudZ RAT. This RAT establishes an encrypted connection to its command and control (C2) server, allowing attackers to extract sensitive information. The CloudZ RAT assists in harvesting credentials from web browsers and downloads the Pheno plugin, which accesses Phone Link app data and transmits it to the C2 server. The Phone Link feature synchronizes critical data, including SMS messages with one-time passwords and account login details, which are the primary targets of the attackers.

36 Malicious npm Packages Exploited Redis, PostgreSQL to Deploy Persistent Implants

Cybersecurity researchers have discovered 36 malicious packages in the npm registry that impersonate Strapi CMS plugins. These packages exploit Redis and PostgreSQL, deploy reverse shells, harvest credentials, and establish persistent implants. Each package consists of three files—package.json, index.js, and postinstall.js—without descriptions or repositories, and all use version 3.6.8 to mimic legitimate Strapi plugins. The malicious packages follow a naming convention starting with "strapi-plugin-" and were uploaded by four accounts within 13 hours. The identified packages include names like strapi-plugin-cron, strapi-plugin-database, and strapi-plugin-server. The malicious code is embedded in the postinstall script, executing automatically upon installation with the same privileges as the user. The payloads evolve from exploiting Redis for remote code execution to attempting direct PostgreSQL database exploitation and deploying persistent implants for remote access. The campaign appears to target cryptocurrency platforms, as indicated by the focus on credential theft and digital assets. Users of these packages are advised to assume compromise and rotate credentials. This incident reflects a broader trend of supply chain attacks in the open-source ecosystem, with recent examples including credential exfiltration payloads in GitHub repositories and compromised GitHub Actions workflows. Group-IB reported that software supply chain attacks are increasingly reshaping the cyber threat landscape, targeting trusted vendors and open-source software to gain access to downstream organizations.
