The Google Gemini app is testing a new camera interface in version 17.55.8, which will allow the viewfinder to occupy half of the screen while keeping chat contents visible. This design is inspired by the ChatGPT mobile app and includes a floating viewfinder, a handle for expanding or minimizing the viewfinder, and a redesigned camera shutter key. The camera switcher will be relocated to the three-dot menu. Additionally, the '@' menu is being revamped to potentially hide disabled apps and may be renamed "Connectors," featuring a wider layout and an option to "Connect apps." The Avatars section will allow users to showcase existing avatars and add new ones. These updates are currently in testing and may not be rolled out to the public.

Google has unveiled a new app called "Look up," designed to enhance user interaction with its upcoming Googlebook platform. The app allows users to query any word, sentence, or paragraph using Google’s services, including Search, Maps, and Flights. Users can highlight text and select the Look up option from the context menu, or access it through a three-dot button on smaller devices. The app features a chatbot-like interface that encourages users to ask further questions. Although it was briefly available on the Play Store, it has since been removed, but users can sideload the APK from APKMirror. Users can manage the app’s settings through their device's settings menu. The Look up app is expected to accompany the launch of Googlebook laptops this fall.

Crumbl Cookies has collaborated with Minecraft to introduce a rotating menu featuring six themed treats, including five cookies and one cake inspired by the Minecraft grass block. The cake visually resembles the grass block but has several shortcomings, including stiff, grainy, and excessively sweet cream cheese frosting. The cake's texture is dry and rubbery, with a confusing flavor profile that combines vanilla cinnamon sponge, cinnamon brown sugar topping, and chocolate crumb streusel, resulting in an underwhelming taste. The overall product is rated 5/10 Sporks.

The cumulative update for Windows 11, KB5121003, has caused game freezes and crashes for users, attributed to conflicts with third-party software and drivers managing RGB components, particularly related to the inpoutx64.sys file. Affected games include ARC Raiders, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and THE FINALS, with symptoms such as unresponsive games, sudden closures with an EXCEPTIONACCESSVIOLATION message, and unexpected system reboots. Microsoft has not provided a permanent fix but suggests users report issues via the Windows 11 Feedback Hub and consider removing or renaming the problematic driver as a temporary measure.

Veteran Soulsborne YouTubers VaatiVidya and Oroboro have shared gameplay videos for The Duskbloods, an exclusive PvPvE title for the Switch 2. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the project lead, has discussed the game with IGN and Automaton. The design of Duskbloods resembles the level layouts of Nightreign, emphasizing verticality and exploration, contrasting with Elden Ring's landscapes. Visuals in Duskbloods evoke Bloodborne, featuring hooded ogres similar to Church Giants, a map reminiscent of Yharnam, a boss encounter in a cathedral, weapons akin to those in Elden Ring and Bloodborne, and thematic elements like a battle in a field of white flowers. The map's vertical density is compared to Shadow of the Erdtree and Nightreign. Concerns exist regarding FromSoftware's ability to maintain multiplayer balance and support, as well as the game's single-player content and potential PC release. The gaming community is eager for updates leading up to the network test.

An entrepreneur attempted to build a business empire starting with a department store in Jakarta that sold only laundry detergent, which led to financial losses due to a misalignment with market demand. Despite diversifying the product range to include cookies and leather shoes, losses continued. A later venture in Bombay, selling CPUs, silica, and raw tobacco, yielded a profit, albeit still negative. The entrepreneur learned valuable lessons about market demands and strategies, leading to a successful department store in Guangzhou that focused on shampoo and air conditioners, resulting in substantial profits. The game "Capitalism," which the entrepreneur engaged with, reflects the post-Cold War era and emphasizes the importance of adaptability and strategic thinking in business.
