Minecraft Dungeons 2 is developed by Mojang and Double Eleven, published by Xbox Game Studios and Mojang. It is available on Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PS5, with a release date of September 29, 2026, priced at £24.99. The game serves as an accessible introduction to the action RPG genre, targeting younger audiences, particularly Minecraft fans. It features a semi-open-world structure, allowing exploration of various areas, but the main quest line and side quests can be completed in approximately seven to ten hours. Combat mechanics are straightforward, with rapid loot acquisition and a system that can frustrate players due to hidden stats. The narrative involves ill-intentioned Illagers and lacks variety in quests. The game includes a co-op mode for up to four players and cross-platform online play, but players cannot transfer offline characters online. The Deluxe Edition includes additional content such as a Soul Cape, hero skins, and access to DLC packs.

Windows 7 was released in 2009 and has received positive reviews for nearly two decades. A performance evaluation was conducted by installing Windows 7 on a modern PC and testing it against Windows 11 across ten games, including eight DirectX 11 titles and two DirectX 9 titles. In the game Metro 2033 Redux, Windows 11 achieved a higher average frame rate, but Windows 7 had better handling of CPU-related performance drops, resulting in stronger 1% lows. In Batman: Arkham Origins, Windows 7 outperformed Windows 11 in both average frame rate and 1% lows at 1080p and 4K. For Batman: Arkham Knight, Windows 7 showed higher performance when CPU-limited at 1080p, while Windows 11 led in GPU-limited scenarios at 1440p and 4K. In Batman: Arkham City, Windows 11 had the advantage across all resolutions as the game was GPU-bound. In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Windows 7 outperformed Windows 11 in 1% lows at 1080p, but Windows 11 took the lead at higher resolutions. Control showed Windows 11 outperforming Windows 7 across all resolutions due to GPU optimizations. Hitman: Absolution also favored Windows 11 in GPU-limited scenarios. For DirectX 9 games, Windows 7 demonstrated significant advantages in average frame rate and 1% lows in Batman: Arkham Asylum, especially at lower resolutions, while performance in Borderlands 2 was nearly identical across both operating systems at 4K. Overall, Windows 7 excels in CPU-limited scenarios, while Windows 11 performs better in GPU-bound situations, aided by advanced graphics drivers. Microsoft’s ongoing efforts aim to improve Windows 11's performance and reliability.

Silent Hill has made a successful comeback after nearly ten years of inactivity, with three new titles released by Konami: Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill f, and Silent Hill: Townfall. These games have received positive reviews and are performing well in sales. Producer Motoi Okamoto expressed relief over the successful reception of these titles and highlighted the challenges faced in convincing Konami to approve new entries after the cancellation of Silent Hills in 2015. There is interest in remaking the original 1999 Silent Hill, and the involvement of NeoBards Entertainment and Screen Burn Interactive in future projects remains unconfirmed. Silent Hill f has been described as a "true return to form," and Screen Burn's work on Silent Hill: Townfall has been praised for capturing the essence of the franchise.

Fakku has launched the Steam page for Dead of the Brain, following their acquisition of the publishing rights to FairyTale's catalog. The game originally debuted on NEC’s PC-98 platform and marks FairyTale’s first foray into the horror genre after a shift from adult-only erotic games. The narrative follows Cole, who witnesses a serum experiment gone wrong, leading to a zombie apocalypse. Gameplay includes visual novel-style dialogue and interactive segments with quick time events. The game will maintain its original pixel art aesthetic, with enhancements for HD displays and some quality-of-life improvements. Dead of the Brain is set to launch on PC via Steam on October 30, with plans for future English releases, including a sequel.

Warhammer Survivors is developed by Auroch Digital and is seen as a worthy sequel to Vampire Survivors. It features detailed hero designs, expansive maps, and grotesque creatures. The game introduces fresh elements like followers and enhanced boss encounters. Familiar mechanics from Vampire Survivors are present, such as weapon evolutions and challenging bosses, with unique adaptations like experience skulls and Extremis bosses. Nuln oil is used as a weapon in the game, damaging and slowing enemies. Each map has a distinct theme, with one set in a WH40k battlefield and another in Age of Sigmar. Players can rescue unlockable characters to aid them in battles, adding a strategic element. Players must choose between WH40k and AoS universes, which have tailored characters and upgrades. Warhammer Survivors runs well on Steam Deck and is set to launch on November 10.

Martin Klima, co-founder of Warhorse Studios, argues that the video game industry has undervalued its products and that a price increase is necessary for the survival of mid-sized developers. He highlights that production costs for high-quality RPGs and open-world games have risen significantly, while retail prices have remained stagnant. Rockstar Games is set to launch Grand Theft Auto VI at .99 for the standard edition and .99 for the Ultimate Edition, which is being observed as a potential benchmark for future game pricing. Klima believes that if GTA VI's pricing is successful, it could encourage other developers to raise their prices as well. He notes that adjusted for inflation, games today cost less than they did in the 1990s. The last significant price increase in the industry occurred in 2020, when the standard price rose from .99 to .99. Analysts suggest that franchises like Call of Duty, NBA 2K, and EA Sports FC may follow suit if GTA VI performs well commercially.

Brigador Killers, the sequel to the mech and simulation game Brigador, has entered early access and aims to expand on the original while introducing new gameplay mechanics. Lead developers Hugh and Jack Monahan discussed the challenges of integrating on-foot gameplay and emphasized their commitment to an authentic experience by not catering to every player's preference. The game features a "show, don't tell" storytelling approach, allowing players to discover the narrative through exploration rather than exposition.
