An unofficial open-source app allows Whoop users to access fitness data without a subscription fee. The app operates offline, syncing data locally via Bluetooth, and enables users to monitor metrics such as strain, sleep, recovery, heart rate variability (HRV), and heart rate. It is compatible with both Android and macOS. Users can download the app files from GitHub, although there are concerns about compliance with Whoop's terms of service.

Bluetooth functionality can disappear from the Device Manager on Windows, often starting with a missing toggle in the Settings menu. Users may see only Microsoft enumerators or an unidentified device instead of the actual Bluetooth adapter. If the PC does not show a Bluetooth radio after the correct driver path, it indicates a deeper issue beyond normal settings or app problems. To determine if Windows recognizes the Bluetooth radio, check Device Manager for a manufacturer-named adapter like Intel or Realtek. If only Microsoft Bluetooth enumerators are visible, the real adapter is likely missing. If the Bluetooth category is absent, check for unknown devices in Other devices. Ensure Airplane mode is disabled and any physical wireless switch is turned on, as these can hide Bluetooth functionality. Running the Windows Bluetooth Troubleshooter via the Get Help app is recommended before manually changing drivers. After troubleshooting, restart the PC to allow Windows another chance to detect the radio. If Bluetooth reappears, the issue was likely temporary. If not, use Windows Update to check for driver updates, and if necessary, download the latest Bluetooth driver from the PC manufacturer’s support page. If the adapter reappears in Device Manager, uninstall it and allow Windows to rebuild it after a complete shutdown. If Windows still cannot detect any Bluetooth radio after these steps, treat it as a hardware or firmware issue. Verify that the PC has built-in Bluetooth hardware; if it does not appear after installing the correct OEM driver, seek support from the manufacturer. Alternatively, using a USB Bluetooth adapter can indicate that Windows Bluetooth support is operational, suggesting an issue with the built-in radio.

The Google Health app has replaced the Fitbit app, leading to a redesign that has affected user experience. Google is addressing user feedback by implementing enhancements and fixing bugs. Users can customize the Today page and Health tab by removing default tiles and adding them back in a preferred order, as drag-and-drop reordering is not available. Android users can add a Google Health widget to their home screen for quick access to key metrics, which currently displays weekly cardio, steps, readiness, and recent sleep data. The widget also includes a shortcut to the Google Health Coach for premium subscribers and a refresh button for data updates.

Developing a life simulation game is complex due to the intricate interactions among characters and their environments. Alex Massé, the creator of Paralives, highlighted the challenges of game development, noting that even simple tasks can be complicated. Paralives has received over 100,000 bug reports, and the development team consists of just 15 members. Despite being in early access, the game has shown a commendable level of polish. Massé prefers to keep the team small for a focused development process, although there may be slight expansions in the future. Players currently enjoy the game's build mode, reflecting the team's commitment to quality.
