Display Assistant app on Galaxy devices gets ready for One UI 9

Samsung is preparing for the launch of One UI 9.0, updating its applications and modules for a smooth transition. The Display Assistant module has been updated to version 9.0.08, enhancing compatibility with One UI 9.0 (Android 17) but not adding new features or fixes. Compatibility updates have been rolled out for several Good Lock modules, with more updates planned. One UI 9.0 will debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, announced on July 22, 2026, and available from August 5, 2026. The stable One UI 9.0 update will also be rolled out for existing flagship models, including the Galaxy S26 series.

Microsoft Edge 150 Adds Google Account Sign-In on Windows and macOS

Microsoft has introduced the ability to sign into its Edge browser using a Google account, starting with version 150 on Windows and macOS. This feature allows users to integrate their Google accounts alongside Microsoft accounts and is being rolled out gradually. System administrators can manage this feature through the NonMicrosoftAccountSignInEnabled policy, which organizations can enable or disable based on compliance and security needs. Edge 150 is the last version compatible with macOS 12 Monterey, and users are encouraged to upgrade to macOS 13 Ventura or later. The update has transitioned the Workspaces feature to a new architecture but removed the sharing function. Users can sign in to Google accounts by updating to version 150.0.4078.48 or newer and following the sign-in process in Edge Settings.

Google is still working on a missing Android 17 feature behind the scenes

CPU throttling occurs as the CPU struggles with torrent processing, leading to overheating and poor playback quality. To address these issues, it is recommended to run TorrServer on a dedicated home server instead of the TV. A lightweight Debian 12 LXC container can be deployed on a Proxmox VE host for this purpose, with the following specifications: VMID 212, hostname torrserver, 2 CPU cores, 2 GB RAM, 512 MB swap, and 8 GB disk space. The container can be created using a specific command on the Proxmox host, and after creation, the TorrServer application can be installed and configured to start automatically.
