Co-op pirate survival game Windrose: should you grab it in early access?

Windrose is a co-op pirate survival game that combines base-building, ship-to-ship combat, and open-world exploration. Players begin the game shipwrecked on a desolate island after an encounter with Blackbeard, where they gather resources, craft a base, repair their ship, and rescue their crew. Key features include: - Hunger and thirst mechanics, where food buffs attributes but does not cause death from starvation. - Weather effects present, but no negative impacts observed. - Health is managed through a single meter, with potions and bandages for healing. - Only online co-op is available; no PvP. - PvE interactions with animals, zombies, and enemy pirates. - Crafting system that pulls from nearby storage chests. - Base-building similar to Palworld's system. - Custom settings for health and damage adjustments. - Limited farming options currently available. - No NPC companions, but players can hire NPCs to assist at crafting stations. - Death results in dropping raw resources but retaining crafted items. - Crew members sing sea shanties during voyages. - Shared progress allows joining friends' games. Fishing is not yet implemented, but planned for future updates. The ship-to-ship combat is engaging, while melee combat can feel repetitive. Windrose is expected to remain in early access for one to three years, with about half of the planned content currently available. The game is priced reasonably, with a 10% discount at launch, but players should anticipate a wait for additional content. Performance is generally stable, though there are occasional slowdowns.

Warhammer Classics brings dozens of lost games to Steam, including my blursed childhood favorite

Warhammer 40,000 Fire Warrior is being released on Steam as part of the Warhammer Classics collection, which includes seven new titles: Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate, Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War, Warhammer: Dark Omen, and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition. Additionally, 17 re-releases are coming to the platform, including the first two Dawn of War games and Battlefleet Gothic. The developer and publisher, SNEG, has updated these classic games for compatibility with modern systems. The complete roster of returning titles includes Space Hulk, Space Hulk: Ascension, Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon, Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach, Talisman: Horus Heresy, Talisman: Origins, Man O' War: Corsair - Warhammer Naval Battles, Warhammer Quest, Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times, Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion, Warhammer Underworlds - Shadespire Edition, Dawn of War, Dawn of War 2, Chainsaw Warrior, Chainsaw Warrior: Lords of Night, Dark Future: Blood Red States, Space Hulk: Tactics, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition, and Blood Bowl 2: Legendary Edition. The collection is available on Steam with a launch discount until April 20.

Games Workshop brings seven classic Warhammer games to Steam for the first time

Hades 2, the Award-Winning Sequel, Lands on Xbox Game Pass Soon

It will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting Tuesday. Tomorrow Is Xbox Game Pass’ Biggest Day of 2026 So Far

Xbox Game Pass will introduce three new titles: Replaced, Hades II, and The Thaumaturge. Replaced is a day-one Xbox console exclusive developed by Sad Cat Studios, while Hades II, from Supergiant Games, will be available for the first time on Xbox Game Pass on April 14, 2025. The Thaumaturge, an RPG from Fool’s Theory and 11 Bit Studios, debuted in 2024 and will also join the service. Only two of these titles will be classified as Xbox Game Pass Premium additions, and subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass Essential tier will not receive new content. Replaced will not be available to Xbox Game Pass Premium subscribers, and a 20% discount will be offered on each title while available.
