After Samsung Health, the Wearable app could be getting its biggest redesign yet

Samsung is redesigning its Galaxy Wearable app to improve user experience with a new interface and enhanced functionality. The app will transition from a black interface to soft blue and purple gradients, organized into three main sections: Watch Faces, Home, and Settings. The Home tab will display the connected Galaxy Watch's image, battery level, and shortcuts for frequently adjusted settings. The watch face browser will show the entire watch with the selected face for better assessment. The Settings menu will have a refined appearance with simpler icons and reorganized options for quicker access. New features include AI-generated Tiles for personalized information aggregation and a raise-to-talk function for the Gemini voice assistant. Health monitoring upgrades will introduce a Daily Cardio Load feature for training recommendations and a Vitals feature to track overnight health metrics. Additionally, a Sound Exposure feature will monitor daily noise levels, and outdoor-focused tools are being developed for Samsung's rugged Ultra watches.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Remastered Lighting Drops On PC This Week, as Modder Transforms Game To Another Level

Modder David Matos has developed a custom Shader Injector mod for the PC version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, addressing the game's flat open-world lighting. The upcoming version 2.0 of the mod will eliminate manual shader setup, introduce new game shaders for improved tonemapping, experimental screen-space global illumination, and automatic exposure. Users will have customization options to disable certain features and adjust settings like contact shadowing and ambient occlusion. Matos has shared that version 2.0 is expected to release within a week and will include a complete overhaul of screen-space reflections to fix light-leak issues. The mod's release coincides with renewed interest in the Final Fantasy VII trilogy following the Summer Game Fest reveal of Final Fantasy VII Revelation. While the enhancements may affect PC performance, Matos believes the visual improvements are worthwhile.

Rockstar Will Offer Free GTA 5 Upgrades From Older Console And PC Versions

Beginning June 18, players who own Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 or the digital edition for Xbox One can upgrade to the enhanced versions on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S for free. This upgrade includes significant visual enhancements and performance improvements, along with the ability to transfer save data and online progress. PC gamers can also upgrade to the Enhanced edition, which features exclusive enhancements like ray-traced ambient occlusion and global illumination. Rockstar previously discontinued GTA Online on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2021, leading to speculation about similar support for PS4 and Xbox One. Minecraft Dungeons 2

Mojang is developing Minecraft Dungeons 2, a sequel that enhances the original game's mechanics and introduces an interconnected world for exploration. New on Java Realms: Sabines takeover

007 First Light’s PC performance isn’t quite martini-smooth, but it’s a damn sight better than that stuttering reveal footage

Mark is reviewing the performance of the game 007 First Light on PC. Initial footage revealed framerate dips during intense action sequences, but after five hours of gameplay, the release build appears more stable, though some performance discrepancies remain. DLSS 4.5’s Dynamic MFG tool needs further fine-tuning. DLSS upscaling provides significant framerate improvements, especially on Quality mode with RTX 5080 at 4K and RTX 5050 at 1080p, where visuals are sharper than AMD FSR. A GTX 1070 struggled to maintain 30fps at native 1080p but improved to 45-50fps with Quality FSR. Performance fluctuations occur even on robust setups, with the RTX 5050 averaging 60fps in NPC-heavy scenarios but dropping to 45fps during action sequences. Frame generation enhances visual smoothness for RTX users but is not available for AMD or GeForce GTX GPUs. The classic 2x multiplier for DLSS frame generation improved framerates but higher multipliers may introduce lag and artifacting. Dynamic MFG has potential but requires careful adjustment to avoid performance issues. The game shows solid technical performance, benefiting from high-end hardware while remaining accessible to a broader audience, with optional ray tracing enhancing visuals.

Path of Exile 2’s complete endgame redesign is great for everyone, especially newcomers

Grinding Gear Games unveiled the upcoming Path of Exile 2 patch 0.5, titled "Return of the Ancients," which includes nearly 900 words of updates. The patch features a comprehensive redesign of the endgame, introducing new systems like Atlas Ascendancies and league-specific features such as Runes of Aldur. The Runes of Aldur league involves rescuing a blacksmith and activating remnants for rewards, including over 100 new runes and a new stat called Runic Ward.
