New Features and Customization Options
The centerpiece of this update is the introduction of ten fixed row layouts, including intriguing options like Spotlight, Bookends, Centre Stage, Marquee, and Hero Trio. These layouts allow users to create visually engaging home screens with double-sized highlight tiles, alongside traditional scrolling rows.
Moreover, users can now place widgets directly within app rows using a tile context menu. The supported widgets include a variety of options such as Weather, Digital Clock, System Info, Favorite App, Watch Next, Recommended, and standard Android system widgets, contingent on device firmware compatibility.
Accompanying this update is the launch of the “ATV Launcher Digital Clock Widgets,” a free companion app that offers 15 unique clock styles, including Halo, Masthead, Orbit, Departure, and Meridian, adding a personal touch to the user experience.
Visual Enhancements and User Interface Improvements
Visual flexibility has also been a focal point of this update. Folders can now showcase their internal contents through various preview styles, including Grid, Banner Grid, or Mosaic. The upgraded Configure Tile dialog introduces a live preview interface, allowing users to see seven different looks for apps and nine for folders. This feature is complemented by custom banner assignments and the ability to select backgrounds with varying transparency levels.
The Watch Next and Recommended cards have been enhanced with edge-to-edge artwork, progress bars, configurable app-source filters, and badge options, creating a more immersive viewing experience.
Modular Status Bar and User Control
Completing the suite of new features is a fully modular status bar, offering users the ability to toggle and reorder icons, select between floating or fixed placements, and choose from full-width or boxed-pill styles. Additionally, users can switch TV inputs directly from the status bar, streamlining the overall user experience.
