New Black Ops 7 update adds just one simple thing, but it fixes Endgame’s biggest issue

A recent update for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 introduced a micro patch that addresses the lack of disconnect protection in the new Endgame mode. Players' Combat Ratings will now be snapshot at the start of a match, allowing them to retain their progress even if they experience a disconnect. Treyarch is also exploring additional forms of disconnect protection for future updates. Furthermore, Endgame is now accessible to all BO7 players, regardless of their campaign experience. The upcoming Season 1 will feature new world events for Endgame, including the return of a giant robot from Black Ops 2's Origins Zombies map.

How to complete the Black Ops 7 Ashes of the Damned Easter Egg

The Zombies map "Ashes of the Damned" features the largest round-based map in Call of Duty history, with a main questline and numerous easter eggs. Players use a truck named Ol' Tessie for transport, which carries the Pack-a-Punch machine. To unlock Pack-a-Punch, players must retrieve T.E.D.D.'s Head from the Server Room at Janus Towers Plaza and install it on Ol' Tessie. Players can drive to Blackwater Lake to restore power by shooting orange pods off a Power Pump, then proceed to Ashwood for further objectives. Players can upgrade Ol' Tessie with the Abomination Beam after defeating zombies and collecting items. The unique Wonder Weapon, the Necrofluid Gauntlet, is obtained by defeating a miniboss named Uber Klaus and completing various tasks. Players gather six ingredients for a serum, which involves specific actions at different locations. They must find three keys to unlock a box in Ashwood, which rewards the DG-2 Turret Barrel upgrade for Ol' Tessie. Players solve various puzzles at different locations, culminating in a final boss fight against Veytharion, where they must utilize Ol' Tessie and strategic gameplay to succeed.

Black Ops 7 Season 1 release date and details

Black Ops 7 Season 1 is set to release on Thursday, December 4, 2025, around 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. The season will introduce a new main Zombies map with its own quest and two survival maps inspired by Ashes of the Damned. The second primary Zombies map is called Astra Malorum, featuring an expansive easter egg quest. New multiplayer maps confirmed for Season 1 include Fate, Utopia, Odysseus, Standoff, Meltdown, and Yakei. Additional content will include new modes, weekly challenges, event challenges, expanded armory access, and a fresh selection of weapons in the Season 1 battle pass.

Black Ops 7 Zombies world first race ends in chaos as winner declares his run “does not count”

Players competed to complete the Black Ops 7 Ashes of the Damned easter egg to unlock Cursed mode. A team led by YouTuber Milo, known as 'MrRoflWaffles,' encountered a bug that made him immune to enemies, leading to controversy over their victory's legitimacy. Milo stated that their completion did not count due to the glitch and requested that Cursed mode be unlocked only after another team completed the challenge without issues. Subsequently, Treyarch announced the victory of another team led by 'NoahJ456' and released an update to fix the bug that caused enemies to ignore players.

Black Ops 7 features a co-op campaign, a replayable PvE extraction mode called Endgame, and a Zombies map named Ashes of the Damned, available in multiple modes.
