Tragic Incident in Slovenia
In a somber turn of events, Karl Lundström, one of the co-founders of the renowned torrent tracker Pirate Bay, has tragically lost his life in an aviation accident in Slovenia. This information was confirmed by Agence France-Presse, citing the political party “Alternative for Sweden,” of which Lundström was a member. The 64-year-old businessman was reportedly en route from Zagreb to Zurich aboard a private Mooney M-20 aircraft.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday, March 10, when the aircraft collided with a wooden structure situated on a mountain in northern Slovenia. Due to adverse weather conditions, recovery efforts for Lundström’s body were delayed until Tuesday, March 11. Authorities have verified the discovery of the pilot’s remains, a Swedish national, although his name has not been publicly disclosed.
“Today we were struck by the tragic and unimaginable news. Karl Lundström… perished in an aviation accident on Monday. He had departed from Zagreb heading to Zurich in Switzerland but crashed in Slovenia,” representatives from the party emphasized.
In a separate aviation-related incident, a Russian airline, IrAero, reported a cabin depressurization during a flight on March 12. This event took place aboard a flight traveling from Manchuria to Krasnoyarsk, prompting the crew to request an emergency descent. Additionally, it was noted that a Boeing 737-8LP, arriving from Novosibirsk, encountered landing gear issues and became stranded on the runway in Uzbekistan, leading to a temporary closure of the airport in Fergana.
