Recent Leak of Debug Builds Raises Concerns in Gaming Community
A debug build of Assassin’s Creed: Mirage has surfaced online, originating from an anonymous source. This version of the game is fully playable and notably lacks the Denuvo protection that has been a point of contention among gamers. Initially, it was reported that this build did not include any downloadable content (DLC); however, shortly thereafter, detailed installation guides for additional content began appearing on torrent trackers.
Interestingly, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is not the only title affected by this trend. The highly anticipated action RPG Dragon’s Dogma 2 from Capcom has also seen its debug build leak in a similar manner. The version that made its way online is identified as 1.0.0.1, dated February 27, 2024, indicating that this pre-release build was utilized by testers just a month prior to the official launch on March 22, 2024.
Upon release, Dragon’s Dogma 2 faced criticism for its performance issues, which were later addressed through various patches. However, the leaked build lacks even the day-one patch, leading to the conclusion that users should not expect optimal performance from this pirated version. Conversely, the debug build of Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not include Denuvo protection, which is known to adversely affect game performance.
Ultimately, the leaked builds serve more as a means for players to familiarize themselves with the games rather than providing a complete gaming experience. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that Capcom has been gradually removing Denuvo from its titles, earning the respect of the gaming community in the process.
