Announcing Windows 11 Insider Preview Build for Canary Channel 29565.1000

Hello, Windows Insiders. Today marks the release of Windows Insider Preview Build 29565.1000, now available in the Windows 11 Insider Canary Channel as part of the optional 29500 build series.

What’s new in Canary Build 29565.1000

Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out with toggle on*

  • This update introduces platform changes as we transition to a new active development build.

[General]

  • The Bubbles screensaver has seen improved performance, particularly for monitors equipped with higher refresh rates.

[Sharing]

  • In response to user feedback, we have refined the drag tray. The peek view has been minimized to reduce accidental activations and enhance ease of dismissal when users interact near the top of the screen.

[Windows Security app]

  • We are rolling out enhancements to the Windows Security app, specifically in the Device security > Secure Boot section. This update introduces color-coded icon badges—green, yellow, and red—alongside new text that indicates your device’s Secure Boot state and certificate status. Microsoft is actively updating Secure Boot certificates on consumer devices and select business PCs, allowing users to check their certificate status through this new feature. Note that this experience is disabled by default on enterprise IT-managed devices and servers.

Feedback: We encourage you to share your thoughts in the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Apps > Windows Security.

[Feedback Hub Improvements]

  • We extend our gratitude to Windows Insiders for the valuable feedback regarding the new version of the Feedback Hub. Currently, we are rolling out version 2.2604.101.0 to both the Dev and Canary channels. This update includes design enhancements based on your suggestions, such as:
    • An improved default window size that now remembers its dimensions across sessions.
    • The ability to use the mouse back button for navigation between pages.
    • Addressing the issue of reduced community feedback visibility.
    • Correct display of upvote buttons for Insiders using the Chinese display language, among other improvements.

Please keep the feedback coming! You can share your thoughts under Feedback Hub (WIN + F) under Apps > Feedback Hub.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel

  • These builds may exhibit instability and could be released with limited documentation. Join Windows Insider to gain early access to Windows 11 features and updates.
  • The Canary Channel builds reflect the latest platform changes early in the development cycle and should not be equated with any specific Windows release. Features and experiences included in these builds may evolve, be removed, or replaced, and may not be released beyond Windows Insiders. Some features may eventually appear in future Windows releases when they are fully developed.
  • Many features in the Canary Channel utilize Control Feature Rollout technology, initially targeting a subset of Insiders and gradually expanding as we monitor feedback to assess their reception before broader deployment.
  • The desktop watermark displayed in the lower right corner of the desktop is a standard feature for Windows Insider pre-release builds.
  • Some features may first appear in the Dev and Beta Channels before making their way to the Canary Channel.
  • For those eager to be among the first to receive features that are gradually rolled out, you can enable the toggle to access the latest updates via Settings > Windows Update*. Over time, we will increase the rollout of features to all users with the toggle activated. If you choose to keep this toggle off, new features will be rolled out to your PC over time as they become ready.
  • Some features currently in development may not be fully localized, with localization occurring as features are finalized. Should you encounter localization issues in your language, please report them through the Feedback Hub.
  • To exit the Canary Channel, a clean installation of Windows 11 will be necessary.
  • For a comprehensive overview of which build is in which Insider channel, please visit Flight Hub.

Thank you,
