Microsoft has been gradually refining the Settings page in Windows 11, a process that may have gone unnoticed by many users. These incremental changes primarily involve migrating features from the Control Panel to the Settings application, a strategic move aimed at phasing out the older interface. Recently, a noteworthy update has emerged that promises to enhance the usability of the Search options within the Settings panel.

Recently, a keen observer known as PhantomOfEarth uncovered this upcoming change on X. Phantom, who specializes in exploring beta builds of Windows, has a knack for revealing features that are still under development. This time, they discovered that the “Search permissions” and “Searching Windows” pages are set to merge, creating a more cohesive user experience.

Moreover, the existing Search pages have retained design elements from Windows 10, which contrasts with the modern aesthetic of the rest of the Windows 11 Settings. The forthcoming update not only aims to simplify navigation but also to enhance the visual appeal of the Search settings, aligning them with the overall design language of Windows 11.

As this feature is currently a work in progress, it is not yet available on the main Windows 11 branch. However, for those participating in the Insider builds, specifically versions 26200.5622/26120.4230, there is an opportunity to preview this new page. By enabling feature ID 57471391 and restarting their devices, users can experience the streamlined Search settings firsthand.

For the broader user base, the official rollout of this feature is anticipated soon, following Microsoft’s final adjustments. In the meantime, users are encouraged to explore the existing Settings panel, where various tweaks can be made to enhance gaming performance and overall system efficiency.
