Windows Insiders Busy Testing New Builds
Today is a busy day for Windows Insiders as Microsoft has released fresh updates for testing in the Beta and Release Preview Channels for both Windows 10 and 11. The latest Canary build has also been rolled out, keeping testers on their toes.
For those eager to try out the upcoming feature update, Microsoft has updated its official Windows Insider ISO images to version 26100.1165. These images include recent security updates from the July Patch Tuesday releases, ensuring a smooth testing experience for users.
Windows 11 build 26100.1165 is now available for x86 and ARM64 devices. Customers with Intel or AMD-based computers can opt for the x86 version, while those with Qualcomm Snapdragon or Microsoft SQ processors can choose the ARM64 option. Macs with Apple Silicon chips are also supported.
Users can download the Windows 11 build 26100.1165 x86 ISO from the official website. VHDX images for ARM-based devices are also available for download. It is important to note that Windows 11 preview images require activation with a genuine license key of a matching SKU.
For those looking for virtual machines, Microsoft’s official Windows Developer Environment is a good option. However, these virtual machines will expire soon, with a timebomb set for July 15. Some prebuilt virtual machines will also be removed on that day due to ongoing technical issues.
Windows 11 Version 24H2 Rolling Out
Windows 11 version 24H2 is already available to some users, particularly those with Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processors. Users with Intel or AMD-based computers can expect to receive the update in the coming months, most likely in September or October.
As Windows 11 24H2 approaches, Microsoft is gearing up to end support for versions 21H2 and 22H2. These older versions will stop receiving updates in less than 90 days, prompting users to upgrade to the latest release for continued support and security updates.
