The root of the problem appears to stem from a conflict between the latest Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface and the Intel Innovation Platform Framework Processor Participant driver.

While a comprehensive list of affected Dell devices has not been disclosed, several models have been confirmed to be impacted. Among these are:

In their announcement, Microsoft reassured users, stating, “If your device is not affected, no action is required.”
