Microsoft: Windows 11 23H2 now available for all eligible devices

Windows 11 2023 Update Now Available to All Seekers

Microsoft has announced that the Windows 11 2023 Update, also known as Windows 11 23H2, has entered the broad deployment phase and is now accessible to all seekers on eligible systems. This latest release will be offered to all Windows devices that are not set to defer feature updates and are unaffected by compatibility holds.

“Windows 11, version 23H2, also known as the Windows 11 2023 Update, is now broadly available to all users with eligible devices who Check for updates,” Microsoft stated in an update to the Windows release health dashboard. Devices running version 23H2 will receive new features and enhancements more frequently using servicing technology.

Windows 11 23H2 began rolling out in September for enterprise testing to Release Preview Insiders and was released as an enablement package for other customers a month later. The update includes new features such as Microsoft’s new AI-powered digital assistant, Windows Copilot AI-powered digital assistant, revamped File Explorer, Dynamic Lighting support, improved volume mixer, revamped Windows Spotlight experience, new in-depth energy report, and various other features and improvements.

If you wish to manually install the Windows 11 feature update, navigate to the Windows Update Settings dialog and click “Check for Updates.” If your device is ready and not affected by safeguard holds, you should see an option to “Download and install.”

Microsoft initiated force-installing Windows 11 23H2 in February on eligible systems nearing or already at their end-of-service date. This came after systems running multiple Windows 11 21H2 editions were automatically updated to Windows 11 22H2 before their end of support in October.

To determine if your computer is eligible for the Windows 11 2023 Update, use the PC Health Check app or review the Windows 11 specifications, features, and system requirements. Microsoft also offers a support document and guided walk-through to assist customers in resolving any issues encountered during the upgrade.
