Microsoft’s Copilot Vision AI helper is now available on Windows in the US

Microsoft has initiated the rollout of a significant update for its Copilot assistant, introducing an innovative feature known as Copilot Vision. This enhancement is now available for Windows 10 and 11 users across the United States, allowing them to engage with the assistant in a more interactive manner.

Exploring Copilot Vision

With Copilot Vision, users can share up to two applications with the assistant, enabling a dynamic conversation about the content displayed on their screens. According to Microsoft, this feature serves as “your second set of eyes,” designed to analyze information, offer guidance when users feel lost, provide valuable insights, and respond to inquiries in real time.

In addition to Vision, the update introduces a new Highlights functionality. This feature empowers Copilot to demonstrate how to accomplish specific tasks within an application, enhancing user experience and productivity.

To access Copilot Vision, users simply need to launch the Copilot app on their devices, click the glasses icon located in the composer window, and select the browser or apps they wish to share. The process is user-friendly, with the option to cease sharing at any moment by clicking “Stop” or “X” in the prompt dialogue.

Microsoft has indicated that users in non-European countries can anticipate the rollout of this feature to their systems in the near future. The company initially tested Copilot Vision with Copilot Pro subscribers starting in October, adopting a cautious approach following the mixed reception of the Copilot Recall feature. This time, the rollout was carefully managed, requiring testers to manually activate the Vision feature and restricting it to a curated list of websites. As the functionality expands, Microsoft is poised to introduce it to a broader audience, enhancing the overall utility of Copilot for users worldwide.
