Brandon LeBlanc, a senior product manager at Microsoft, confirmed that the company is actively working on a fix to remove the erroneous uninstall feature listed in the Control Panel’s Features dialog box.
While Microsoft has not disclosed a specific timeline for the fix, it has assured users that it will be included in an upcoming update. Reports suggest that the uninstall option may not be available for the Recall AI feature on Copilot+ PCs, although European versions of Windows with Copilot+ might necessitate this option for users who wish to completely remove it.
Recall AI to Still be a Mandatory Copilot Plus PC Feature
In light of recent statements from Microsoft, it appears that the Recall AI feature will remain a mandatory component of Copilot+ PCs set to launch in the near future. The company plans to introduce this feature as a preview for Windows Insiders in October, just a month away. This revamp of Recall AI aims to address earlier concerns and is anticipated to be better received by the public compared to its initial rollout.
