In a significant update following the recent launch of the Pixel Buds Pro 2, Google has introduced a new feature called Noise Control within the Android 15 Volume menu. This enhancement is poised to elevate the user experience for audio enthusiasts.
The Android 15 interface has undergone a comprehensive redesign, particularly the Volume menu that emerges from the bottom of the screen. While playing audio, the menu condenses to display only the Media bar. Initially, this panel lacked the functionality to manage the Pixel Buds Pro, but that has now changed.
Users can now adjust the volume using the physical keys and tap the three dots located at the bottom of the slider. The updated menu now features “Noise Control” alongside “Spatial Audio” and “Live Caption.” Selecting Noise Control brings up an overlay with options for Noise Cancellation, Off, and Transparency, allowing for a tailored audio experience.

This new functionality is compatible with both the Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel Buds Pro 2. Although the feature was not available at the beginning of the weekend, it has been rolled out as of Sunday. While it would have been ideal for this update to coincide with the launch earlier in the week, many users are still operating on Android 14.
In addition to Noise Control, the Spatial Audio feature now offers three settings: Off, Fixed, and Head Tracking. The Live Caption feature remains an on/off toggle, which can be managed through Settings > Sound & vibration > Live Caption. Notably, in this latest version, Live Caption is slightly less prominent than in Android 14, as it no longer appears directly below the volume slider. However, the buttons for Noise Control and Spatial Audio will expand when accessed.
The rollout of Noise Control for the Pixel Buds Pro is being executed as a server-side update, streamlining access compared to navigating through the Pixel Buds app. Pixel owners can also conveniently place the app on their home screen or utilize the Pixel Battery widget as a shortcut for quick access.
