In a recent update, Microsoft has addressed the situation regarding Windows 11 devices that experienced the unintended removal of its AI assistant, Copilot. The company confirmed that these affected devices are now being restored to their “original state,” effectively reinstating the functionality that some users may have found temporarily absent.
On Monday, Microsoft acknowledged a bug that led to the uninstallation of Copilot and its removal from the taskbar following the March 11th update. In response to this issue, the tech giant recommended that users reinstall Copilot directly from the Microsoft Store and manually pin it back to their taskbar while a permanent fix is being developed.
Copilot, which was introduced as a native application for Windows earlier this month, features a refined user interface and offers users the convenience of initiating a voice chat by simply pressing the Alt + Spacebar keys. This enhancement aims to streamline user interaction with the AI assistant, making it a more integral part of the Windows experience.
Additionally, Microsoft is addressing another issue affecting users on Arm-powered devices, who have encountered difficulties downloading Roblox from the Microsoft Store. The company has indicated that Roblox is actively working on a solution, and in the meantime, users can access the game directly from Roblox.com.
