TeamViewer integrates Windows AI VSR into Assist AR

In a significant move to enhance remote assistance capabilities, TeamViewer has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to integrate on-device artificial intelligence through the Windows AI API. This integration will be featured in TeamViewer’s flagship product, Assist AR, designed specifically for frontline workers.

Enhancing Video Quality with AI

According to a press release shared via PR Newswire and highlighted by MartechSeries, the new Video Super Resolution (VSR) feature, which was unveiled during the Public Preview at Microsoft Ignite 2025, operates directly on the receiving Windows device. This innovative capability allows for real-time reconstruction and sharpening of incoming video streams, effectively reducing artifacts and optimizing bandwidth usage.

TeamViewer emphasizes that this enhancement is particularly beneficial for remote supporters, especially when field technicians are navigating weak or unstable mobile connections. The ability to improve video quality under challenging conditions can significantly elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of remote assistance.

Alfredo Patron, Executive Vice President of Global Partner Ecosystem & Channels at TeamViewer, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Microsoft, highlighting the potential of this collaboration to transform the remote support landscape.
