Microsoft Releases Windows 11 Build 26236 for Windows Insider Program

Microsoft has rolled out the latest Windows 11 build, numbered 26236, for members of the Windows Insider program in the Canary Channel. This update brings a new Start menu account manager, along with various fixes and improvements.

Changes and Improvements

[General]

This update includes a small set of general improvements and fixes to enhance the overall experience for Insiders using this build on their PCs.

[Start menu]

The new account manager on the Start menu is being introduced with this update. When signing in with a Microsoft account, users will now have a quick view of their account benefits and easy access to manage account settings.

Fixes

[Taskbar]

  • Fixed an issue where the taskbar was not appearing for some Insiders in the previous flights.

[Audio]

  • Resolved an underlying issue that was causing the preferred audio volume for Microsoft Edge to not persist across app restarts.

Known issues

[General]

  • [IMPORTANT NOTE] Some Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels may be stuck on previous builds. If you are impacted, you can download the latest ISO for a clean install to opt back into flighting.

[Task Manager]

[New] Investigating an issue where colors in the Performance section are not displaying correctly in dark mode.
