Windows 11 KB5070300 Updates Widget Board & Adds Numbered Badges to Dashboard Icons

On this fine Friday, Microsoft has unveiled yet another Dev and Beta Insider build for Windows 11 25H2, designated as KB5070300. By installing this latest update, users will transition to Build 26220.7070, which brings with it a suite of enhancements, including updates to Smart App Control and Quick Machine Recovery, as well as an improved Widget Board Settings interface.

Enhanced Widget Board Functionality

With the installation of this build, users will now have the ability to select and reorder their default dashboards. Notably, when live weather content is displayed, the Widget Board will now default to the first dashboard in the navigation bar, rather than the most recently accessed one.

To reorder the Widgets Board, simply navigate to the new full-page Widget Settings by clicking the gear icon located at the bottom of the navigation bar. From there, you can drag your preferred dashboard to the top of the list, allowing for a more personalized experience.

Additionally, Microsoft has introduced numbered badges on dashboard icons. These small yet informative indicators will show the count of new alerts for each dashboard, automatically clearing once you navigate away from that particular section.

Furthermore, this update enhances Windows 11’s File Explorer by adding a people icon under the “activity” section on the homepage. This new feature allows users to easily see who has modified files, streamlining collaboration and file management.
