Windows 11 laptops are getting an improved battery indicator

In a move that promises to enhance user experience, Microsoft is introducing a revamped battery indicator for Windows 11 laptops. According to Neowin, this new feature is part of Build 26120.2510, which is currently accessible exclusively to Insiders on the Dev Channel.

Enhanced Visuals for Battery Monitoring

The redesigned battery indicator boasts a larger and more vibrant appearance compared to the existing icon. Gone are the days of the monochromatic design, which featured small symbols indicating charging status. The new iteration will display a lively green hue when the device is charging and shift to yellow when Power Saving Mode is activated.

At present, users can only observe this fresh design in the taskbar, while the traditional icon remains visible on the lock screen. Anticipation builds as it is expected that the updated design will eventually make its way to the lock screen following thorough testing and approval.

While the exact timeline for a broader rollout of this new battery indicator remains uncertain, Build 26120.2510 also introduces a range of additional features. Among these are enhanced experiences for Copilot+ on PCs powered by both AMD and Intel hardware, further enriching the Windows 11 ecosystem.
