Atlus’ latest offering, Metaphor: ReFantazio, has made a significant impact since its launch on October 11th, securing the position of the third-highest-grossing title on Steam last week. This medieval role-playing game has quickly garnered attention, with over one million copies sold across all platforms. The game’s success can be attributed to its roots in Atlus’ acclaimed Persona franchise, particularly the fifth installment, combined with a medieval fantasy aesthetic reminiscent of popular titles like Fire Emblem.
Steam’s Revenue Landscape
In the realm of revenue generation, Counter-Strike 2 continues to dominate as the biggest revenue driver on Steam, maintaining its top position. Following closely is Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, which debuted in second place, mirroring the excitement generated by its pre-orders the previous week.
The battle royale phenomenon, PUBG: Battlegrounds, has made a notable return to the Top Ten, landing in fifth place. This resurgence appears to be linked to a recent store update and special in-game drops. Meanwhile, the new MMO from Amazon and NCSoft, Throne and Liberty, has slipped to fifth place after initially debuting at third, despite attracting over three million players in its first week.
Other titles have seen shifts in their rankings as well. EA Sports FC 25 and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake both experienced a slight decline, dropping to sixth and seventh places, respectively. Valve’s Steam Deck hardware also fell, moving from seventh to eighth position.
In the latter part of the Top Ten, Dota 2 saw a significant drop, falling five spots to ninth, while Diablo 4 rounded out the list, buoyed by the recent release of its Vessel of Hatred expansion.
