The Google app brings convenience for sharing Search results on Android

Enhanced Sharing Capabilities Arrive on Google’s Android App

Google’s Android app has introduced a new feature that streamlines the process of sharing search results. Users can now easily share their findings with a simple tap on a newly added “share” button. This enhancement eliminates the need to open a search result to copy the link for sharing purposes.

The update was first noticed by Artem Russakovskii, who shared his discovery on social media. By tapping the vertical three-dot icon next to a search result, a full results page opens, presenting a “Share” button alongside the existing options to save, remove, or provide feedback on the result.

Upon selecting the share option, Android’s familiar sub-menu appears, offering various ways to distribute the link. Users can copy it for pasting elsewhere, send it via Google Messages, share on social platforms, or use the Quick Share feature for a seamless experience.

Although the share button is a new addition to the Google app on Android, the functionality has been available on the web version of Search. On desktops, users can right-click a result to share it directly.

The rollout of the share button seems to be widespread, but some users may need to wait a bit longer for the feature to appear on their devices.

In a related development, Google has also been working on enhancing language skills for Android users. A new Search Labs experiment, “Speaking Practice,” is now available in select non-native English-speaking countries. This AI-powered tool allows users to engage in conversational practice with a bot, simulating a more natural speaking environment.

Furthermore, Google’s AI model Gemini is expanding its presence within the Android app across more regions. The company has plans to integrate Gemini into the main Google app, which is anticipated to assist users with search-related inquiries, further enriching the user experience.
