What to expect from the One UI 7
According to AC’s Harish Jonnalagadda, this release is being hailed as Samsung’s finest software update to date, and for good reason. Upon downloading the OS, users will immediately notice a refreshed Notification panel, which now separates controls and notifications into distinct sections. For those who prefer a unified view, customization options are available.
One UI 7 also introduces a vertically-scrolling app drawer, moving away from the traditional horizontal layout. Additionally, users will find the new “Now Bar” at the bottom of their lock screen, a pill-shaped interface that provides quick access to media controls, timers, recorders, navigation, and other ongoing activities.
Additional features include Live Notifications that appear on the status bar, along with a revamped camera interface that enhances organization and usability. A comprehensive list of features awaits users once they successfully update to One UI 7.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to extend this software update to older eligible devices—including the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, S23 FE, A34, A35, S22, S21 series, and Tab S9/S8 series—by May. Some users in the U.S. with Galaxy S24 devices have already begun to receive the update, so if it hasn’t appeared on your device yet, rest assured that the rollout is occurring in phases.
