Innovative Designs has initiated a recall of approximately 75,900 Minecraft Light-Up Slap Ruler Bracelets, as announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Thursday, July 24. This recall pertains to two specific models of the bracelets that do not comply with federal safety regulations for battery-operated toys.
Safety Concerns and Recall Details
The primary concern lies in the ease with which children can access the battery compartments of these bracelets. This design flaw poses a significant risk, as the button cell batteries can be swallowed, leading to severe injuries, including internal chemical burns or even fatal outcomes.
These bracelets were sold at Walmart locations across the country from March to May 2025, retailing for approximately . Available in vibrant pink and green, each bracelet comes equipped with three pre-installed button cell batteries. Although Innovative Designs has received one report of a battery detaching from the toy, the CPSC has confirmed that no injuries have been reported to date.
In light of these safety concerns, parents are urged to immediately remove the bracelets from children’s possession. To facilitate a full refund, customers are required to send a photo of the bracelet after disposal to info@innovativenyc.com.
Additionally, the CPSC has issued a reminder that button cell batteries are classified as hazardous waste and should be recycled in accordance with local regulations.
