Coatsink’s founders are leaving the company

The indie game development landscape is witnessing a significant transition as Coatsink, a studio known for its innovative approach and distinctive culture, prepares for a leadership change. After 14 years at the helm, the founding trio—CEO Tom Beardsmore, CDO Paul Crabb, and COO Eddie Beardsmore—will be stepping away from their roles before the year concludes.

New Leadership Takes the Helm

In a strategic move, Richard Snowdon, a long-standing member of the Coatsink family, will ascend to the position of CEO. Snowdon, who has been with the company since 2015, initially joined as head of production and was promoted to head of studio in 2022. His extensive background includes valuable experiences at Eutechnyx, Double Eleven, and Accenture, positioning him well to lead Coatsink into its next phase.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the future, Snowdon remarked, “Tom, Paul, and Eddie built a world-class studio with a unique culture creating innovative IP with a wicked sense of humour, and I’m committed to carrying that forward. We have some incredible projects in the works, working with amazing partners, and I can’t wait to see where we take Coatsink next.”

Reflecting on their journey, Beardsmore shared, “Founding and growing Coatsink with Paul, Eddie, and the entire team has been an incredible journey. We’re proud of what we have built together with our visionary team, partners, and the studios we have worked with over the last 15 years. We are excited to hand over the reins to Rich to take Coatsink into its next chapter of growth and creativity. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.”
