Android Auto seems to be removing its ‘GameSnacks’ collection

Android Auto Removes GameSnacks Collection of Games
Recent updates to Android Auto have led to the removal of the “GameSnacks” collection of games that were previously available to play on the car’s display.
“GameSnacks” is a collection of HTML5-based games developed by Google for car displays. This concept originated from Google’s Area120 and was integrated into Android Auto in 2021.
However, users have started noticing that GameSnacks are disappearing from the Android Auto app launcher. While they are still visible in the launcher settings, they have been missing from beta releases, starting with Android Auto 15.2. Users had previously reported issues with receiving alerts about only being able to use GameSnacks when parked, which were shown in error frequently.
Although stable Android Auto updates have not yet removed the feature, more users are becoming aware of the change as discussions emerge on Google’s support forums. The specific Android Auto version causing this change remains unclear, making it challenging to determine if it is limited to the beta track.
It appears that Google is phasing out GameSnacks on Android Auto, but it remains to be seen if this change will extend to the stable track as new Android Auto versions are being released to stable users.
If you are not on the Android Auto beta and have noticed that GameSnacks are missing, feel free to share your experience in the comments below.
