Ubisoft “restructuring” RedLynx, up to 60 jobs at risk

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, Ubisoft, the renowned French publishing powerhouse, has announced a significant restructuring of its RedLynx studio. This decision, detailed in a recent post on the company’s official website, indicates that up to 60 employees may face job losses as part of the initiative.

Focus on Efficiency and Prioritization

Ubisoft has articulated that these changes are necessary to streamline costs while ensuring that its studios operate with a sharper focus on priorities. Celine Pasula, Managing Director of RedLynx, expressed the gravity of the situation, stating, “This proposal reflects difficult choices we may need to make, and it comes after careful consideration.”

Pasula further acknowledged the emotional weight of the announcement, emphasizing the potential impact on both individuals and teams within the studio. “We recognise the weight of this announcement and want to acknowledge the impact this proposal may have on individuals and teams,” she noted.

Despite the challenges posed by this restructuring, Ubisoft remains optimistic about the future of RedLynx. The company believes that these proposed changes will allow the studio to continue playing a pivotal role in Ubisoft’s trajectory. The focus will be on driving technical excellence in mobile gaming and enhancing the company’s capabilities across various platforms, particularly on smaller screens, to broaden audience engagement.
