Launched in August 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator quickly gained popularity, with two million players joining within the first four months. The developers of the game expressed their excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to celebrate 15 million pilots who have taken flight with us in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Thanks to each and every one of you for filling the skies with your adventures! Blue skies and tailwinds.”
It’s important to note that the 15 million player count does not equate to 15 million sales. Microsoft Flight Simulator has been available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service since its PC release and has been accessible on Xbox consoles since July 2021.
