Microsoft Flight Simulator flies past 15m players

Microsoft Flight Simulator Soars to New Heights with 15 Million Players

The latest installment in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series has taken the gaming world by storm, attracting over 15 million players since its launch in 2020. This impressive milestone was announced by the game’s official Twitter account, which expressed gratitude to the ever-growing player community.

Launched in August 2020, Microsoft Flight Simulator quickly gained popularity, with two million players joining within the first four months. The developers of the game expressed their excitement, stating, “We’re thrilled to celebrate 15 million pilots who have taken flight with us in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Thanks to each and every one of you for filling the skies with your adventures! Blue skies and tailwinds.”

It’s important to note that the 15 million player count does not equate to 15 million sales. Microsoft Flight Simulator has been available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service since its PC release and has been accessible on Xbox consoles since July 2021.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate the release of a sequel, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, scheduled to launch in November of this year. With its immersive gameplay and stunning graphics, the franchise continues to captivate aviation enthusiasts and gamers alike.
