Co-op Romp A Way Out Hits Nine Million Copies Sold
A Way Out, the popular co-op game released in 2018, has reached a significant milestone by selling over nine million copies. Developer Hazelight Studios shared the exciting news on Twitter as part of their tenth-anniversary celebrations.
Back in January 2021, the game had already sold 3.5 million copies, meaning an impressive 5.5 million units have been sold in the last three and a half years. The studio expressed their gratitude, stating, “The development was a wild ride, and the game was already a success back when it released. But even then, we never dared to dream of THIS many people playing our game.”
Looking ahead, Hazelight teased some behind-the-scenes content for their latest game, It Takes Two, following the success of A Way Out. It Takes Two, released in 2021, has sold over 16 million copies, further solidifying the studio’s reputation for creating engaging co-op experiences.
