Minecraft 26.1 Snapshot 9

A midweek release brings a touch of nostalgia as we unveil 26.1 Snapshot 9, addressing a couple of notable issues that emerged in yesterday’s update. Among these was a rather peculiar crash that occurred when any entity ventured beyond the vertical limits of the world—a true edge-case scenario, indeed.

This latest snapshot also tackles some charming yet disruptive concerns, including the incessant meowing of kittens when they find themselves cozily nestled in bed. Additionally, players will notice improvements regarding elevated shadows and the pre-edit display that previously misbehaved when using the Input Method Editor (IME) for text input during gameplay.

With these fixes in place, the sky is no longer the limit for your adventures. Happy exploring!

Fixed bugs in 26.1 Snapshot 9

  • MC-305579 – Kittens repeatedly meow when snuggled up in bed
  • MC-306456 – The game crashes when an entity is outside the world height limits
  • MC-306479 – Entity shadows are elevated when a below_name scoreboard objective is active

Snapshots are available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the Snapshot, simply open the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the “Installations” tab.

Keep in mind that testing versions can corrupt your world, so it’s advisable to back up your data and/or run them in a separate folder from your main worlds.

For those interested, a cross-platform server jar is available, and we encourage players to report any bugs they encounter.

If you have feedback to share, we’d love to hear from you!
