Windrose: If you can’t find the buyer for the People of Tortuga, it’s because he’s not on Tortuga

After navigating the treacherous waters and engaging in thrilling encounters with pirates in the survival game Windrose, players will eventually find themselves on the storied island of Tortuga. By this point, many adventurers will have amassed a collection of crates filled with provisions and medicine, which can only be sold to the elusive People of Tortuga faction. Upon arriving on the island and locating the faction’s bounty agent and provisioner, the search for the buyer begins. However, a curious twist awaits: the buyer is not actually located on Tortuga itself, but rather on a different island entirely. This peculiar aspect of pirate logic can be perplexing, but fear not; guidance is at hand.

How to find the People of Tortuga’s buyer

While it would be convenient to provide a straightforward map marked with an X, the maps in Windrose are procedurally generated, making such navigation a challenge. Players can, however, set sail near Tortuga, keeping an eye on their map. If they find themselves in the “Brethren of the Coast Waters,” they are likely close to the buyer’s island.

For those seeking a more reliable method to locate the People of Tortuga’s buyer, an early quest titled “Glorious Hunters” offers a promising lead. This quest involves uncovering the abandoned camp of some missing boar hunters. Following this questline will guide players to the head of the Buccaneers, marking their island location on the map if it hasn’t been discovered yet. Upon arrival, players will encounter a character named Henri, who presents another quest aptly named “Buccaneers.”

The initial task in this quest requires the delivery of 50 bags of gunpowder. As crafting may not yet be an option, players are encouraged to clear camps, ruins, and other points of interest where gunpowder can often be found in chests. It is advisable to focus on melee combat until enough gunpowder has been gathered for delivery to Henri.

Once the gunpowder has been successfully delivered, Henri will request that players deliver a shipment of tanned hides to a character named Charlie Sharpe. This task will add another marker to the map, revealing the location of the People of Tortuga’s buyer—not on Tortuga, but on a separate island. Upon reaching this destination, players will finally be able to sell their hard-earned medicine and provisions. Additionally, another bounty agent awaits, similar to the one in Tortuga, providing opportunities to enhance reputation with the faction. Adventurers may also encounter a pirate named Black Axel, a cook available for hire at a cost of 500 coins, who boasts a 30% chance to craft an extra potion, adding further value to the player’s endeavors.
