Assassin’s Creed producer assures fans ‘there WILL be blood’ in the Black Flag remake, and it won’t be DLC

If you’re a fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, particularly its swashbuckling installment, Black Flag, recent developments may pique your interest. Following the reveal of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, some fans expressed concerns regarding the apparent reduction in the game’s violence, specifically the absence of blood. Producer Justin Ng from Ubisoft Singapore took to social media platform X to address these worries directly.

Blood Will Flow Freely

In a candid post, Ng reassured fans that blood will indeed feature in the final version of the game, and importantly, it will not be relegated to a paid downloadable content (DLC). He acknowledged the feedback regarding visual effects (VFX) and audio cues during combat, stating, “We hear the feedback on the VFX and audio cues on fights. It’s being toned down.” This statement aims to quell any fears that the game would stray too far from its roots.

Fans have been vocal about their desire for a return to the more visceral elements of gameplay. One user, MinuteTomorrow7935, noted the satisfying blood animations in previous titles, suggesting it would be odd to omit such features from this entry. Ng responded affirmatively, reinforcing that the essence of the game remains intact, declaring, “It’s still there. #Faithful.”

The notion of blood being offered as a paid DLC may seem far-fetched, yet the gaming industry has seen stranger precedents. As players eagerly await further updates, it appears that Ubisoft is committed to delivering a product that honors the franchise’s legacy while addressing community feedback.
