A Queen Creek grandmother, known to her online followers as GrammaCrackers, recently experienced a harrowing incident that has drawn attention to both her gaming endeavors and the troubling phenomenon of swatting. Sue Jacquot, an 81-year-old gamer and YouTuber, was the target of a false emergency call that led to a significant police response at her home late on May 18.
Jacquot, who has garnered over 630,000 subscribers on YouTube since she began her gaming journey in October 2025, was livestreaming a continuous “Minecraft” session to raise funds for her grandson Jack Self’s cancer treatments. Jack, a 17-year-old who has bravely undergone more than 200 chemotherapy sessions in the past year and a half, has inspired Jacquot to use her platform for a noble cause.
Unexpected Police Response
On that fateful night, Jacquot was awakened by the sound of officers entering her home, responding to a call that falsely claimed a violent situation was unfolding. The Queen Creek Police SWAT team arrived in full tactical gear, with five police vehicles and drones deployed to ensure the safety of all involved. The situation was resolved swiftly when law enforcement confirmed that the report was a hoax.
In a YouTube video shared shortly after the incident, Jacquot recounted her surprise at being roused from sleep. “I was so asleep. I did not want to get up,” she said, reflecting on the surreal experience of having officers in her home. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Jacquot maintained a light-hearted perspective, noting the unexpected affection from her family during the chaos. “You couldn’t get that much attention normally. In light of the swatting incident, Jacquot remains undeterred in her mission to support her grandson.
