In the enchanting world of Crimson Desert, the quest to tame the Baby Wyvern pet unfolds with a blend of patience and strategy. Unlike the more challenging Phoenix, which requires a deft trick-shot from the sky, or the Iron Eagle that demands a bar of platinum, the process of acquiring this flying companion is refreshingly straightforward. The journey begins with locating a wyvern egg, which, once hatched, will register as your new pet. Excitingly, future updates promise that this little creature will evolve into a mount as it matures.
How to tame the Baby Wyvern pet in Crimson Desert
Before embarking on this adventure, players must first acquire the Focused Force Palm ability. If you happened to miss this crucial skill during Chapter 4 while navigating to Scholastone, and the phantom does not appear to assist you at the blockage between Fort Perwin and Kharonso, fret not; you can still obtain it in Chapter 9.
During the initial quest, titled The Calling, you will enter a desert temple where the task is to purify statues using the Focused Force Palm. Successfully completing this will unlock the ability within your skill tree.
To hatch the Baby Wyvern, head to Wyvern’s Cradle, located in the southwestern region of Deleysia, the easternmost area in Pywel. This site can be pinpointed to the west of Dewhaven on the map, just north of Three Brothers’ Cliff. Clear out the Wyvernflame enemies that occupy this territory, and you will be ready to claim your dragon.
If you have accepted the Children of the Woods quest from the Pororin Forest Guardians, ensure you speak to Shai, who can be found in the nest. This step is essential, as it allows you to utilize the Focused Force Palm without interference.
For those who prefer a step-by-step guide, here’s how to proceed:
- In the crater at the center of Wyvern’s Cradle, ascend the stairs leading into the pillared section of the cave.
- Follow the left wall until you encounter a mineral blockage that can be cleared with the Focused Force Palm—do so.
- Venture into the newly opened cave and retrieve the wyvern egg, while also taking a moment to open the chest present in the area.
- Carefully descend the stairs and place the egg in one of the nests, ensuring it is positioned precisely in the central nest made of twigs.
Upon successful placement, the egg will begin to shake and emit a glow. After a few moments, as the intensity of the glow and shaking increases, approach the egg and interact with it to hatch your new pet. The Baby Wyvern will emerge, instantly registering as your companion. Unlike smaller bird pets, this creature is too large to perch on your arm, but it will hover nearby, ready to accompany you on your adventures.
