Can the Android-powered mini gaming device ‘AYANEO Pocket S Mini’ play demanding games? A review after trying Fortnite and NTE.

AYANEO Pocket S Mini: A Closer Look at the Gaming Device

The ‘AYANEO Pocket S Mini’ is a gaming device that hit the Japanese market on March 26, 2026. Powered by a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 SoC, this device allows users to enjoy Android game apps with the convenience of a physical controller.

Despite its compact size, the AYANEO Pocket S Mini is packed with all the essential gaming buttons like L and R triggers, as well as analog sticks. Its sleek metal frame gives it a premium touch, making it a stylish choice for gamers.

Equipped with Qualcomm’s ‘Snapdragon G3x Gen 2’ SoC, the AYANEO Pocket S Mini was put to the test using the popular benchmark app ‘AnTuTu Benchmark.’ The device scored an overall 144464, surpassing the performance of 35% of users.

While playing the fast-paced game ‘NTE’ on the AYANEO Pocket S Mini, the device demonstrated smooth gameplay without any lags or freezes. However, when tested with ‘Fortnite,’ slight choppiness was experienced during intense moments, highlighting the device’s limitations for competitive gaming.

One notable feature of the AYANEO Pocket S Mini is the ‘AYAWindow’ quick menu, accessible by pressing the AYA button near the right stick. This menu provides real-time information on frame rate, CPU usage, temperature, and more.

Despite its small screen size of 4.2 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels, the AYANEO Pocket S Mini may pose challenges for gamers due to the size of on-screen buttons. Additionally, the device’s temperature remains relatively cool during gameplay, with areas like the analog stick reaching 36 degrees Celsius.

Available on Amazon.co.jp and other retailers, the AYANEO Pocket S Mini comes in two models: an 8GB RAM/128GB storage version priced at 83,800 yen and a 12GB RAM/256GB storage model priced at 92,800 yen.
