Please try again in a few minutes.” This message became a common refrain as individuals attempted to log in, only to be met with frustration.
According to DownDetector, a platform that tracks website status in real-time, reports of issues began to surge just before 9 AM, indicating a widespread problem affecting both Facebook Messenger and Instagram. While the issues are extensive, they do not seem to impact every aspect of the platforms.
Instagram users have reported difficulties accessing their feeds and using the app, while Facebook’s desktop version appears to be the primary source of frustration. Notably, nearly 60 percent of the reported issues on Facebook pertain to the website version, with many users successfully accessing the platform via mobile apps.
One user expressed their experience succinctly: “Facebook loads on phone but not on laptop. Keep getting Account temporarily unavailable etc… Working on phone just not on laptop.” Another user from the UK echoed this sentiment, seeking clarity on when the situation might improve.
