Earlier this year, Microsoft unveiled significant updates aimed at enhancing the Start menu and Taskbar on Windows 11, responding directly to user feedback. These enhancements include the much-anticipated ability to move and resize the Taskbar, alongside options to customize the size and layout of various sections within the Start menu.
Since their announcement, these features have been available in public preview, yet users outside the Windows Insider Program have been awaiting their arrival. Recently, Microsoft confirmed that it is preparing to roll out the updated Taskbar and Start menu to all users next month, as these features have now reached the final Windows Preview Channel prior to public release.
Final Steps Before Public Release
As of yesterday, the movable and resizable Taskbar, along with the customizable Start menu and other quality-of-life improvements, have transitioned to the Windows 11 Release Preview Channel. This marks the last phase before these features become available in public, non-Insider updates.
Typically, when a feature enters the Release Preview Channel, it is only a matter of two to three weeks before it is included in a public update. This is generally aligned with the non-security feature preview update that occurs at the end of each month, followed by the security-focused Patch Tuesday, which takes place on the second Tuesday of every month.

With these updates, Windows 11 is also set to adopt WinUI across more areas of its interface, further enhancing user experience and interface consistency.
