Exciting New Game, Aniimo, Now Available on iPhone
One of the year’s biggest new creature-catching games, Aniimo, has made its debut on iPhone. Pawprint Studio recently launched Aniimo on iOS and Android, just one week after the free-to-play open-world RPG was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Aniimo was first unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2025, drawing comparisons to popular games like Pokémon and Palworld. In Aniimo, players venture into the open world of Idyll to capture over 200 creatures known as Aniimo. The game’s unique twist lies in the “Twining” mechanic, allowing players to merge with collected creatures and utilize their abilities for combat, traversal, and puzzle-solving.
The game has already garnered a significant following, with over 100,000 concurrent Steam players shortly after its launch. Third-party trackers even recorded a peak of over 130,000 players. Despite being free-to-play, Aniimo has maintained its position among Steam’s top sellers, with in-game purchases contributing to its success.
Steam currently boasts more than 8,000 reviews for Aniimo, with approximately 74 percent being positive. While initial reception was mixed due to criticisms of the game’s monetization model, Aniimo is now receiving praise for its art style and combat mechanics.
The mobile release of Aniimo is not a separate version but rather offers full cross-platform play and cross-progression with PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players can seamlessly switch between devices, carrying over their progress, resources, and party lineup. Additionally, the game features online co-op, PvP modes, and a Homeland system where players can construct and decorate a home, farm resources, and interact with their collected Aniimo.
The arrival of Aniimo on iPhone opens up the game to a wider audience, filling a void left by Pokémon’s exclusivity to Nintendo hardware. Players can now download Aniimo for free on the App Store, with in-app purchases available. The game is also accessible on Android, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
