SportVot, the innovative sports-tech startup, has made a significant leap in enhancing its sports streaming experience by launching its app on Android TV and Amazon Fire TV. This move marks a pivotal moment in SportVot’s journey, as it extends its reach beyond mobile and tablet devices to the living room, thereby broadening its distribution footprint and making live sports more accessible to television audiences.
Expanding the Reach
The integration with Android TV, which utilizes Google Play to deliver apps to television devices, and Amazon Fire TV, boasting over 250 million devices globally, presents a substantial opportunity for SportVot. By establishing a presence on these prominent platforms, SportVot is poised to tap into a larger connected-TV market for its diverse sports programming.
With this expansion, SportVot is not merely adding television as a distribution channel; it is enhancing its overall strategy. The company has developed robust technology and production capabilities that enable it to broadcast a wide array of live sports events. The app has become the primary destination for audiences seeking this content, underscoring its role in the sports streaming landscape.
Looking ahead, SportVot has plans to further extend its app to additional connected-TV and operator platforms, including Tata Play Binge, Vi TV, Sun TV, Dish TV, and Sri Lanka Telecom, among others. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to cultivate a comprehensive television distribution network.
Shubhangi Gupta, Co-founder and CMO of SportVot, emphasized the significance of this connected TV opportunity, stating, “It goes beyond giving fans another way to watch. It allows the competitions and sporting properties on SportVot to enter a viewing environment that has traditionally been central to sports consumption.”
Gupta further elaborated, “As we work with more organisers across different levels of sport, expanding the platforms through which their games can be discovered and followed becomes an important part of building a larger audience for the sport itself.”
Diverse Programming Offerings
The timing of this television expansion aligns with SportVot’s efforts to diversify its sports offerings. The platform has already facilitated over 600,000 games across more than 40,000 tournaments and 52+ sports, ranging from grassroots community events to national competitions, while also establishing a growing international presence.
Recent programming highlights include streaming European summer club friendlies in India featuring over 23 clubs, including Aston Villa, and serving as the official streaming partner in India for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). Additionally, SportVot has showcased events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed and has provided coverage of international cricket in markets such as Australia, Japan, Uganda, Eswatini, Germany, and Sweden.
As SportVot continues to broaden its programming across various sports, including cricket, football, and kabaddi, the launch on connected TV platforms solidifies its commitment to enhancing the distribution of its expansive sports ecosystem.
