Living in a Wi-Fi bowl presents its unique challenges, particularly when it comes to internet speed. For those blissfully unaware, this predicament translates to painfully slow download times. A recent personal experience involved downloading Stalker 2, which took an astonishing three weeks. Consequently, the art of preloading has become essential for gamers like myself.
Preloading and the Anticipation of Arc Raiders
The excitement surrounding Embark Studio’s upcoming extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, reached new heights yesterday with the launch of its preload. Many players have eagerly seized this opportunity, collectively watching the slow-moving blue progress bar as we gear up for the game’s official release tomorrow. However, not everyone has been able to join in on this preloading frenzy.
Due to an unforeseen issue, pre-loading will not be available on the Epic Games store. ARC Raiders will be available to download on the Epic Games store starting at 10:30 am CET, Oct 30th! Apologies for the inconvenience Raiders! đOctober 28, 2025
This official announcement from the developers highlighted a hiccup in the preloading process for users on the Epic Games store. While the game will be accessible for download starting at 10:30 am CET on October 30th, the inability to preload has left some players frustrated. One user even posed the intriguing question, âI wonder whoâd pick Epic over Steam?â
The situation is not entirely unexpected, as Epic Games only recently began supporting preloading at the start of this month. This transition period may still be causing some growing pains, and I can empathize with those affected by the lack of preload options.
Fortunately, the download size for Arc Raiders is relatively modest at just 26.8 GB. In a stroke of luck, my own internet connection managed to download the entire game in just over an hourâa personal best for the hamster that powers my Wi-Fi router. This bodes well for players who will be downloading Arc Raiders at launch, suggesting that they wonât have to endure a lengthy wait. If my hamster-powered Wi-Fi can handle it, thereâs every reason to believe others can too.
