Ubisoft Confirms Release Date for Star Wars Outlaws
After a recent 10-minute IGN First gameplay preview of Star Wars Outlaws received mixed reviews, Ubisoft has confirmed that the game will be released on August 30 as scheduled, with no delays expected.
We have seen glimpses of Star Wars Outlaws in previous previews, with some reservations. Staff writer Morgan Park noted in a June preview that the game appeared to be playing it safe, and emphasized that the true potential lies in its open world exploration, a feature that was not fully showcased in the event.
Despite concerns raised less than two months before the initial release date of November 8, 2022, Ubisoft has assured fans that the game is ready for launch. Ubisoft CFO Frederick Duguet stated, “The game has gone gold, so the date is well confirmed for August 30. We will soon reveal more high-quality content that will showcase the depth of the open world experience, allowing players to explore multiple planets within the galaxy.”
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also expressed confidence in the game’s quality, stating, “The level of quality of the world and the experience is very high. We are leveraging our engine to deliver an experience that players will love.”
While some criticism of the game may stem from broader dissatisfaction with the Star Wars franchise, many specific complaints in the YouTube comments focused on technical issues such as frame rates, visual effects, and AI behavior. Despite these criticisms, Ubisoft remains committed to delivering a high-quality gaming experience with Star Wars Outlaws.
As the release date approaches, fans are eagerly awaiting more gameplay footage to see if Ubisoft can address the concerns raised and deliver a polished and engaging Star Wars experience.
