Backbone One Xbox Edition is now available for Android

Introducing the Backbone One Xbox Edition Controller

The new Backbone One Xbox Edition controller has officially launched and is designed to make streaming Xbox Game Pass titles on your Android phone even easier.

Following the PlayStation version launched two years ago, the Backbone One Xbox Edition is a complete rework catered to Microsoft’s Xbox gaming platform. It even has a translucent green chassis, the familiar Xbox layout for face buttons, and a dedicated “Xbox” home button that helps launch in-game menus and the like.

To help you get into games faster, there is Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) integration directly in the Backbone App which allows you to dive directly into your favorite games. Alternatively, you can also use Xbox Remote Play to stream games directly from your own Xbox if you want to play your existing library of games.

The controller is compatible with USB-C devices, including the iPhone 15 and newer. This might limit its appeal to some players, but allows for usage on a huge pool of Android handsets. However, this does have a benefit as you do not need to charge the Backbone One Xbox Edition like many other Bluetooth alternatives.

Because this is an officially licensed Microsoft controller, it will play nicely with the Xbox Game Pass mobile app and cloud gaming will be more consistent as you have access to exact button layouts. You are also able to play local Android games if you prefer.

In the US, the Backbone One Xbox Edition retails at 9.99 and can be purchased from Best Buy or directly from Backbone.com and comes with one free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, giving you instant access to an expansive library of games. These titles include various first-party releases such as Halo plus hundreds more.
