In a recent development, Nexon has taken decisive action regarding the Blue Archive PC release, following concerns that an in-game event may have breached Steam’s policies. The event, which encouraged players to leave reviews on Valve’s storefront, has been promptly terminated. This decision comes after Nexon recognized that the initiative contradicted the guidelines outlined in the Steamworks documentation.
Termination of the In-Game Event
In an announcement shared in the Steam news section for Blue Archive, Nexon expressed its commitment to fostering a collaborative environment with players. The company stated, “Following the launch of the Steam client, we prepared this event and rewards for all Senseis as a way to create a better service together through your valuable feedback. However, during the process of announcing the reward distribution linked to review submissions, we discovered that certain aspects could potentially conflict with platform policies. As a result, we have decided to terminate the event early.”
Furthermore, Nexon clarified that no rewards earned from the event would be distributed, emphasizing its dedication to adhering to platform policies. The company reassured players that it would exercise greater caution in planning future events to avoid similar conflicts, all while striving to enhance the gaming experience.
Despite the early termination of the review event, Blue Archive has made a significant impact since its launch on Steam last week, peaking at over 22,000 concurrent players. The game has also garnered more than 10,000 Steam reviews, contributing to its “very positive” overall rating on the platform.
