CHARTS: Borderlands 4 debuts at No.1 on Steam

In a remarkable display of popularity, Borderlands 4 has emerged as the highest-grossing title on Steam for the week ending September 16th. Launched on September 11th, this latest installment in the beloved franchise has captivated players, even amidst reports of performance issues on PC. Randy Pitchford, the head of developer Gearbox, has come to the game’s defense, asserting that its performance is “pretty damn optimal.”

Steam’s Competitive Landscape

Following closely behind is Counter-Strike 2, which has once again settled into the second position. Meanwhile, PUBG: Battlegrounds has made a notable ascent, climbing two spots to claim third place, buoyed by a recent G-Dragon lucky draw event that has reinvigorated interest in the classic battle royale.

In a surprising turn, Hollow Knight: Silksong has slipped three positions to fourth after its initial debut at the top of the charts. However, this metroidvania gem still outperformed the Steam Deck, which has surged two spots to fifth place, showcasing the continued demand for Valve’s handheld console.

NetEase’s Marvel Rivals has made a triumphant return to the Top Ten, jumping an impressive 13 positions to sixth, thanks to the engaging new season titled Heart of the Dragon. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 has experienced a slight decline, dropping three places to seventh.

In a positive development for fans of the genre, Path of Exile 2 has re-entered the Top 100, fueled by a recent update that has reignited player interest. On the other hand, NBA 2K26 has seen a dip, falling three spots to ninth place.

Rounding out the charts is the new roguelite title Shape of Dreams, developed by Lizard Smoothie and published by Neowiz, which debuted on September 11th and has already made its mark by securing the tenth position.
